Why were bank notes with denominations of 2000 withdrawn?
Following the elimination of 500 and 1000 currency notes, 2000 currency notes were created to satisfy the needs of the economy. The majority of the 2000 notes were issued before to March 2017 and are nearing the end of their anticipated life cycle of 4-5 years.
